Police declares Misau innocent

conflict of interest

The Police Service Commission has cleared the Senate Committee Chairman on Navy, Senator Isah Misau of the accusations regarding his retirement letter that claims it’s fake.

There had been exchange of words between Misau and the Inspector General of Police. While the former accuses the other of corruption, the later claims his opponent didn’t retire from the force but only left without notice.

The panel which was set up by the commission found that the letter was issued by the department of recruitment and that it followed due process.

The Head, Press and Public Relations of the commission, Ikechukwu Ani, confirmed to our correspondent on Wednesday that Misau’s name was listed among 111 others who retired from the force in 2010.
